 Board Member Highlight: Rick Seeger

SMFPI Board Members

For this month’s Board Member Highlight, we are excited to feature

Rick Seeger, SMFPI Board President.

  Involvement with SMFPI:
Rick Seeger has been involved with SMFPI for about a year. His connection to SMFPI began through long-standing relationships with Mike and Angela

Kristan, and other members of the Catholic community, which deepened his awareness and passion for the ministry's mission.

Hopes for SMFPI’s Impact:
With a strong background in medicine, Seeger is passionate about restoring authentic Catholic healthcare in Rochester. He emphasized the historical significance of St. Mary’s Hospital, which served the community for over 100 years before its closure. He believes SMFPI can fill this critical healthcare gap and bring back faith-based medical services to benefit the community.

Personal Life & Interests:
Beyond their work with SMFPI, Seeger is a full-time eye surgeon, happily married for over 30 years, and a father of five children. He enjoys a variety of hobbies and leads a full, meaningful life.

We are grateful for his leadership, passion, and dedication to SMFPI. Stay tuned for more Board Member Highlights in upcoming newsletters!

Let's lift up our hearts

with prayer, discussion, and fellowship.

Monday, February 10

from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Sacred Heart Cathedral.

Witness: Joey Pontarelli, Founder & President: Restored

Nothing steals the happiness and salvation of young people more than pain and suffering in their lives. Most respond to it in unhealthy, sinful ways that cause even more harm.

In this practical talk, Joey shares his journey of navigating pain. He offers stories and lessons on how to heroically deal with pain like the Saints did, so young people can use suffering as a catalyst for growth instead of being crushed by it.

Help Lois Azessie Cover His Medical Expenses

Lois Azessie is an incredible man of faith and service. After immigrating to the U.S. from Cameroon to escape violence in his homeland, Lois has become a vital part of our community. He is a devoted Catholic who volunteers countless hours helping our refugee population attend Mass at the Cathedral, all while rebuilding his life in a new country.

Recently, Lois underwent surgery to remove kidney stones, a procedure that finally brought him relief after years of suffering. While his insurance covered 80% of the cost, he is left with a $4,000 medical bill.

Now, Lois needs our help. Let’s come together as a community to support someone who has given so much to others.

Please donate and share this fundraiser to help Lois reach his goal.
